YOUNG VOICES 732
Reaching more than 300 students annually, Young Voices 732 brings teaching artists into Red Bank public schools for residencies and workshops – and brings young people to Two River Theater to create an original play or musical. Throughout the school year, students in pre-K through second grade take classes in puppetry, pros and storytelling. In the spring, middle school students star in a production that they co-create with professional artists.
YOUNG VOICES 732, 2010-2011 Season
In June 2011, 18 students from 14 area middle schools presented a staged reading of a show that they inspired and helped to create: Middle School Mysteries, a story of two young super-sleuths investigating the biggest case of their lives: namely, their fellow students. The cast and creative team were committed to peeling back the layers of stereotypes and the roles people project publicly, to tell a story that hits home for today’s student. The reading of this brand new musical was presented in the Marion Huber Theater, directed by Kate Cordaro with Book, Music and Lyrics by Daniel MatÄ—.

YOUNG VOICES 732, 2009-10 Season
In June 2010, we produced Life in the Middle, a rock musical written and directed by KJ Sanchez. With a live rock band made up of middle school students, this profound, funny, and rocking musical had dialogue taken directly from middle school students, and explored what it’s like to be right in the middle!
