Two River Theater Company presents

One Child


Ten students from seven different high schools band together to wrestle with education, adolescence, and their hunger to be seen and understood in an original play inspired by Nilaja Sun’s No Child….  This probing and dynamic new play, drawn from the students’ own lives and experiences, was developed over the course of three months through Two River’s PlayBack theater education program.

Written and performed by Liz Ditzel, Sophia Gutchinov, Catherine Healey, Evelyn Lumish, Princess Thomas, Chloe Triolo, Lauren Viggiani, Maddie Walsack, Jeianeira Woods, and Annie Zucker, in collaboration with Lauren Feldman and Pirronne Yousefzadeh.

PLAYBACK:

In 12 weeks, the cast of PlayBack will create and perform an original play based on the themes of a Two River Theater production – and drawn from their own lives, experiences, and questions about the world. This season, we will “play back” No Child…by Nilaja Sun - a tour-de-force solo performance based on her experiences as a teaching artist in the New York public schools. PlayBack will be performed on the Marion Huber Stage at the Two River Theater.
