RED BANK, NJ — On Saturday, April 22 Two River Theater Company hosted “A Season of Dreams” gala benefit featuring performances by Soozie Tyrell & The Gotham Playboys, a capella gospel vocalists Rain, and main stage headliner Danny Aiello. Mr. Aiello’s performance included a film of highlights from his 25+ years in show business including the films Moonstruck, Do The Right Thing, and 2 Days in the Valley and continued with musical selections from his recent album I Just Wanted To Hear The Words including the classics All Of Me and Besame Mucho. The evening raised more than $425,000 to support Two River Theater Company’s exceptional artistic and educational programming outreach that serves more than 50,000 patrons annually including students, teachers, and people with disabilities.
Gala co-chairs were Michelle Baratta of Red Bank and TRTC Trustee Board Members Laura Saker of Millstone and Kim Widener of Rumson. The co-chairs received the support of countless committee members and volunteers from the Red Bank area.
TRTC Executive Producer Robert M. Rechnitz publicly announced the lineup for the 2006-07 Season to the benefit guests at the post-performance dinner. In addition to the main stage Theater Series, which includes Ain’t Misbehavin’, Tartuffe, A Lie of the Mind, The Underpants, and a new play commissioned for TRTC in collaboration with New Dramatists, TRTC will also offer a “Best of New Jersey Dance” series featuring the Garden State’s premier dance companies, Young Audiences New Jersey series for children and their families, and an Emerging Classical Artists Series.
