Our new cultural center is more than a place to see plays. In addition to a 350-seat auditorium, the Two River Theater will house classes where area students can experience and explore the world through exposure to great works of drama and enhance their educations by actively participating in the artistic and technical process that produces great theater. There is mounting evidence that students who are deeply involved in the fine and performing arts score better on standardized tests, have increased graduation rates and develop a higher order of thinking skills, creativity, and problem solving abilities.
The size and location of our theater makes it a natural host to a wide variety of arts organizations, community groups, and business meetings. Local dance companies and musical groups will find our space warm and inviting, the perfect place to build a relationship with their audiences. World class performers groups like Orpheus Chamber Orchestra or the Brodsky Quartet whose work demands a less expansive setting than a 1,200 seat hall, will be drawn to our area for the first time. Our theater will offer a gallery space for local and regional artists. We will also provide a unique space for business conferences and meetings, and will bring hundreds of customers into local shops and diners into local restaurants.
